My Workflow
I believe each project is unique, so I use my experience gained in teaching to find out the particular pain points and goals of the project. This could be done by studying the project brief or meeting with clients and using these to craft an action plan, using design methodologies and frameworks as my base.
While I follow a guideline for each project, I think it's important to remain flexible. Sometimes the best solution might be to take a step back and adjust the plan or go in a different direction entirely. I also think some of the best improvements to a design are made by continuous iterations.
Collaboration
My background in teaching has provided me with experiences balancing the goals and needs of multiple stakeholders, while keeping the focus on the user.
As a colleague I strongly value an open and supportive work environment. I believe in using constructive feedback as a tool of improvements and lifting each other up. I also think it's important for the entire team and client to be involved in the entire design process to ensure a smooth workflow.
Future Goals
I'm a strong advocate for continuous learning and hope to find a work environment where I can learn more and grow as a designer. This could be through full-time work in a tech company, design agency or in-house designer, or even through freelance projects.
Considering my background and interests, I would be an especially strong asset in the education, fitness and health & wellness sectors.
